Gabriel Garcia

Founder

Gabriel Garcia's life story embodies the American dream. After enjoying a loving childhood in El Salvador, civil strife in his native country brought Gabriel to the United States. As a young man of 22 years, fueled with a strong work ethic and fierce determination, Gabriel gathered a handful of workers in Prairieville, Louisiana, and Garcia Roofing was born! With his truck as an office and pen and paper for estimates and invoices, he began his day before sunrise and worked until darkness no longer allowed. The year was 1992, and several months later South Louisiana would be devastated by Hurricane Andrew. Gabriel Garcia traveled the area, voluntarily assisting residents with temporary roof repairs.

Many of those homeowners became the original customer base for Gabriel's company and continue to patronize and refer Garcia Roofing nearly 30 years later! Their allegiance to the company is understandable; the core values which have guided Garcia Roofing through the years remain. Integrity and quality, with a goal of consistently exceeding customer expectations, are the values which Gabriel has solidified through the years, placing Garcia Roofing among the largest and most respected roofing companies in the South. And yes, he can still be found daily climbing roofs in and around South Louisiana!
Mr. G, as Gabriel is affectionately known to employees and customers alike, is the proud father of four sons and two daughters and grandfather of three little boys as well. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing soccer, and fishing at any opportunity. Now a grateful American citizen, Gabriel is an active participant in both his church and community, serving on several boards and committees and sharing much of his time and resources with church and area charities.

Fred Garcia

Chairman of the Board of Directors

Fred Garcia has come a long way since 1989, the year he first came to the United States as an immigrant from El Salvador. Chairman of the Board of Directors of Garcia Roofing, Garcia led the company to more than 300% growth. He successfully started three other companies—Roofing Solutions, Louisiana Roofing Supply and Roof Corp.—in that same period of time.

The area’s largest residential roofing company, Garcia Roofing ranked No. 320 among Hispanic Business Magazine’s 500 largest Hispanic-owned businesses in 2009 and No. 844 among Inc. magazine’s 5,000 fastest growing companies in the country that same year. Garcia, who was named as one of Hispanic Enterprise’s top Latino entrepreneurs in 2008, finds success through strenuous effort and strong faith.

Garcia is pastor of Iglesia Centro de Vida [Center of Life Church] in Gonzales, which is one of the largest Hispanic churches in Louisiana. He has also served as the United Pentecostal Church’s Hispanic ministries director for the state, planting churches, training ministers, and overseeing pastors.

“As an immigrant, you have to work twice as hard because you have to learn the language and culture of a new country,” Garcia says. “You also go to sleep at 2 a.m. every night.” After graduating from high school in Pearland, Texas, Garcia attended LSU. He initially started in electrical engineering but switched to business administration. Now he spends his time creating new ventures in the roofing industry and watching them grow. He maintains a dynamic daily schedule, engaging in strategic planning, automating processes, training, and meeting with company leaders. “No one can be successful unless he can select, retain, and work with great leaders,” Garcia says. “I’ve always consulted people who are smarter and have more experience.
